Dave Olson

Dave started sailing in elementary school when his family bought a Sunfish.  Later his dad bought a Ranger 26 which they raced often.  By the time he graduated from high school Dave had sailed lots of different small and big boats and was lucky to crew on a boat sailing across the Gulf of Mexico.  A friend built a wooden double ended 30 footer and asked Dave to sail double handed across the Atlantic, from Miami to Plymouth, England.  During his kids’ younger years, there was no time for sailing, but as the kids became teenagers, Dave started racing again, in SF Bay and in the nearby coastal areas.  His family has chartered sailboats for several cruising vacations.  Dave has also raced in 2 Pacific Cup races to Hawaii, on a monohull and a trimaran.
